How thick of a wetsuit to keep warm during winter SoCal?

It's December and my springsuit 2/1mm is not over cut. It is a 3 / 2 enough or that spring is for a 4 / 3? Any specific recommendations? I would like to keep it <$ 250, sorry no E / F-bombs or psychopaths: (water temperature gets colder around here is 50 years higher F.

Ok I live in SoCal and most of the time my 3 / 2 keeps me warm on cold days I wear boots and it keeps me warmer. Sometimes it is too cold for my 3 / 2, but I can not see that much Forking money for a 4 / 3 that you are only going to need a couple of times. I just came in prime time last year was very cold. It also depends on the species which the surf, if in a bay or reef that will remain warmer. If you have the moolah and do not mind spending to go for it, it is much easier than deal with a brain freeze and the end result will be sailing more often. Besides being pro last 2-3 seasons. Good luck. I read this again and I think we're talking about surfing right? If we are talking about diving, then do not know.
