Carnival Cruises: Can you walk up Mayan ruins in Cozumel, Mexico without having to pay for a tour? (O is also perhaps too long a walk?) Try to find out if you can get a better experience of the islands that the packaging activities of the cruise line offers if we can. In addition, relevant recommendations for snorkeling shore excursions / Stains were ordered for those of you who have tried in Cozumel and Key West, or any other activities to take into account?
Cozumel is a fun place to go … is very safe and there is not much to do. The following is a link to information San Gervasio ruins. http://www.cozumelparks.org.mx/eng/parks-sanervasio.asp From your cruise ship, just take a taxi and ask to take you to San Gervasio. I have never ridden San Gervasio, but I've been to Punta Sur (the lighthouse on the windward side of the island, even if you have), which is another national park. Tour guides are employed by the park and are very well informed. Shopping: The two-story mall called Punta Langosta, and shopping (Expect to pay higher prices here), as well as Carlos and Charlies and Senor Frogs (both are really funny when in full swing). You can walk along the waterfront and shop your way to the square of the city with tons of shopping. Food: If you want to eat, while in Cozumel, I would recommend Casa Denis (http://www.casadenis.com/) found in the back of the square, or http://www.guidoscozumel.com/ Guido () on the promenade. Another good place to eat is just south of Punta Langosta in Hog City Cafe (http://www.papahogs.com/site/cafe.php) … have a great breakfast and a beautiful view (not dining). Excursions: If you're south of the city, Chankanaab (Http://www.cozumelparks.com/eng/parks-chankanaab.asp) is a beautiful National Park (information on other parks in Cozumel is located on the site too). Snorkeling is good and the atmosphere is very relaxing. They also have good food and service. You can also make the dolphin or sea lion encounter here. If you can rent a car (or you can hire a taxi to take you), you can drive around the island to the windward side (also called the wild side). The album is beautiful, with many offering photo opportunities. I'd be careful of getting into the water, currents are fast, however, a number of beach clubs on this side (Chen Rio is nice). If you drive to this side of the island, the journey is not complete without a stop at Coconuts (http://www.islacozumel.net/food/coconuts/). As to continue forward, you'll drive past the ruins of San Gervasio As you approach the city (assuming you went south first, the road makes The general tour around the island). Another resource for specific tours is www.cozumelmycozumel.com. Many locals check their forums and can provide excellent advice. Have fun! PS – If you are a diver, what you do on the island is a breeze … diving is fantastic. Deep Blue is a great dive operation for all levels and can be set up snorkeling excursions if you're not a diver.
